Practical moving guidance
Plan packing and unpacking around your downtown Los Angeles home, apartment or loft. Share both full addresses, your inventory, elevator and loading arrangements, and the help you need with Tray.
The details make the difference
Start with a room-by-room inventory and decide what will move, be donated or stay behind. Include shelves, cupboards and the spaces you rarely use. This makes it easier to discuss the amount of packing help you need without guessing from the number of bedrooms.
You can ask Tray about selected rooms, fragile belongings or a broader packing plan. Identify anything unusually large, delicate or difficult to handle. Agree on what should be packed before the crew arrives and which materials or tasks are included in the estimate.
The details make the difference
Use smaller boxes for heavy items and larger boxes for lighter, bulky belongings. Avoid making a box so heavy that it is difficult to handle. Protect delicate pieces individually and fill empty space so the contents cannot move freely inside the box.
Keep furniture hardware together in a labeled bag and identify its matching piece. Do not begin unfamiliar disassembly without discussing the right approach. Tell Tray about artwork, glass and other pieces whose preparation needs a closer review.
Before moving day
Share an accurate inventory, both addresses, access details and your preferred dates. Tray can discuss the crew, equipment and packing your move calls for.
Start planningThe details make the difference
Put the destination room and a short description on more than one side of each box. Keep handling notes clear and specific. A label such as “Kitchen: mugs” is more useful during placement than a box number with no inventory to explain it.
Keep a separate inventory where you can find it. If some belongings are going into storage while others go directly to the new home, make that distinction clear before loading. Identify the few boxes you want to open first without mixing essential documents or medications into the shipment.
Discuss packing for a storage gapBefore moving day
Share an accurate inventory, both addresses, access details and your preferred dates. Tray can discuss the crew, equipment and packing your move calls for.
Start planningThe details make the difference
Explain where furniture and boxes belong before unloading begins. Open the essentials for sleeping, washing and the next morning first. If unpacking is included in your plan, confirm which tasks the crew will complete and how materials should be handled afterward.
Share changes in inventory or access promptly rather than waiting until moving day. The practical goal is a clear agreement about preparation, transport and placement, with fragile or unusual items reviewed in advance.
